The Cleveland Pregnancy Center originated from the vision that a few friends had in 1980 after attending a conference in Michigan where they heard Dr. C. Everett Koop and Dr. Francies Schaeffer speak on the topic of abortion and the need for Christians to become active in the pro-life movement. The group was challenged to take a stand against abortion and to act with compassion on behalf of women in unplanned pregnancies.

The vision was realized a few years later with a Westside suburban church giving a large donation of seed money to start a center. A evangelical / non-denominational steering committee was formed to start the original Center, now known as the Cleveland Pregnancy Center, in association with the Christian Action Council of Washington, D.C., now CareNet.

The dream became a reality with the Center's opening in June of 1984, and has relocated twice to larger facilities to accomodate the growth of the ministry. Presently, the Center has a main office and one satellite office. We also provide services out of local partnering churches. Our prenatal clinic, opened in 2006, provides medical and spiritual support to many women, whom otherwise would not be able to receive medical care.

"Let us not love with words or tongue, but with actions and in truth."
1 John 3:18
